10 Crafted ideas for Animal Coloring Pages

Make That Elephant Nose Come to Life

This is one fun craft and requires nothing but a party blowout and the coloring page of an elephant face.

The page should be mounted with the support of thin cardboard and shaped into an oval after it dries.

Subsequently, the page needs to be slit where the nose of the elephant goes through it and provided to the child with a simple white party blowout.

When the mouthpiece of this party blowout is pushed back through the hole, the child can blow into the air and watch in hilarity as the nose of an elephant comes to life!

Zebras, Zebras Everywhere

This classroom craft starts with coloring by the children of their zebras, reinforcing them with thick cardboard, and then cutting them out.

Black yarn can be given to them to create fuzzy manes and tails for their zebras. These can be attached using one staple or Krazy glue.

Then ask them to carefully cut four nickel-sized holes at the bottom of the zebra’s body.

Now, their fingers can suddenly become zebra legs and start playing with all striped friends!

You Are Deer to Me

Deer are cute and appealing to almost all children and are probably the first pet that a child should be taught about and the perfect animal with which to create a cute picture for mom or dad.

Give each child a sheet of construction paper and let them draw deer antlers freehand.

Next, when they have colored and cut out their deer they can be attached to the middle of the antlers for artsy, whimsical posters.

At the end, they can write, “You are ‘Deer’ to me” with a beautiful message for mom and dad.

A Hungry Hippo Bank

This craft needs a coloring page with a big smile on the face of the hippo.

The child will need a simple rectangular box that can be laminated with construction paper. There should be a small opening cut on the top for coins.

Once the hippo is colored, cut the face out of the page and glue it onto one end of the box.

You may now decorate the face using some wiggle eyes, along with a pipe cleaner at the other end that forms a funny tail, and your little one has a cute coin bank.

Chicken Crossing

Chickens are often the funniest animals; this is a neat craft to bring that out.

Once your child finishes drawing a chicken, it should be cut out and glued onto a long craft stick.

Next, the child should color a road scene keeping in mind that old joke, and cut it very carefully along its entire length.

Position the child’s use of the craft stick through the slit such that when the chicken “walks” along the road, he or she is having a funny good time.

 Ring Around the Giraffe

For this fun classroom craft, have each child color a giraffe, glue the page to stiff cardboard, and cut it out carefully. Next, staple the giraffes together in a circle. The children will probably need your help with this part; however, once they’ve completed the circle the giraffes will all stand up by themselves.

Using rings from basically any ring toss game, let the kids try their hand at a toss and see if they can get a ring around one of the giraffe’s necks.

 Crocodile Tears

This craft will keep any youngster in stitches in no time.

Once the crocodile is colored, cut it out, and fold accordion-style between the neck and the tail; this creates a 3-D effect.

To carry this off, small pieces of cardboard to which wiggle eyes have been glued can be attached to the cutout so that they sit straight up.

Later, the small droplets can be drawn and cut out from plain white paper and then applied in a line coming from the eyes to create a comical decoration.

Classroom Fun With Gorillas

This activity features gorillas with their excellent climbing and swinging skills, making this an ideal classroom craft.

Ask your students to design a “city” using simple crafting supplies- with plain old cardboard boxes.

Next, color and cut out the gorillas and have them add them to the variety of buildings with tape or staples. Just think “King Kong!

Make a Dolphin Wreath

For this pretty aquatic wreath, have your child color and cut out four or five dolphins to set aside.

Have the youngster then take some plain brown packing paper and crunch and twist it into the shape of a wreath.

Finally, add blue craft spray paint and add some blue glitter to create a burst of color.

When dry, the dolphins can then be Krazy-glued to the wreath in any pattern the child wants. A coat of acrylic spray will seal in the artwork for a beautiful dolphin craft.

Turtle Wall Art in 3D Motion

Turtles are loved by most children. So this project won’t be any different. Astonishingly easy, it begins with a plain, white Styrofoam bowl and a spot of green finger paint.

The children should turn the bowl upside down and paint the rim with this paint in a “turtle shell” design.

Once the turtle is colored, he should be cut out from the page and carefully placed onto the Styrofoam “shell.

Reinforce the turtle head with cardboard backing, and then the craft becomes ready to be put up as playful 3D wall art.
